Construction Updates - Week Ending June 21, 2024

Edgewood/Richmond Water Main Replacement Project:

The Village selected the low bidder, Unique Plumbing of Brookfield, as the contractor for the water main replacement project along Edgewood from Ogden to Woodlawn and Richmond from Park to Edgewood. The new water main will go under the east side (Edgewood) and the south (Richmond) sidewalks, which include new valves, fire hydrants, and 1½” water service from the main to the boxes.

June 21, 2024 Update:

Unique Plumbing continues to get the water main in the ground rapidly.  This week, their sub-contractor was able to directional bore at several key areas to have minimal damage from the traditional open—cut method, which reduced restorations and does not harm critical trees. For next week, they hope to install a new valve on Richmond before entering the Nazareth property, which would allow them to pressure test, sample, and make the connection into their facility by the end of next week.  Once this is complete, Unique will begin hooking up individual water services in the 300 block of Edgewood.  A representative from Unique Plumbing will contact all the homeowners in the 300 block next week that will get new services into their homes, to investigate the best course of action.  Check back next week for another update.
