Investing in Illinois, a Nicor Gas system improvement initiative is a multi-year initiative to modernize aging natural gas infrastructure and enhance the safety and reliability of the natural gas distribution system. The improvements being made to infrastructure through Investing in Illinois are designed to allow Nicor to continue to deliver natural gas safely and reliably to customers.

Nicor Gas Project ( West of IHB to La Grange Road, between Homestead and Garfield)
We will continue the service installation process for each individual home or business next week. Service installation will be on the 800 block of Robinhood heading south to the 700 block of Robinhood by the end of next week. This process includes the small excavation of the newly installed main with the removal of a sidewalk square, and approximately a very small 1x1 hole near the current gas meter or new meter location. Whenever possible we will directional drill underground from each excavation to minimize any disruption. Each service install will be backfilled as they are completed.
