Construction Updates - Week Ending July 12, 2024

Edgewood/Richmond Water Main Replacement Project:

The Village selected the low bidder, Unique Plumbing of Brookfield, as the contractor for the water main replacement project along Edgewood from Ogden to Woodlawn and Richmond from Park to Edgewood. The new water main will go under the east side (Edgewood) and the south (Richmond) sidewalks, which include new valves, fire hydrants, and 1½” water service from the main to the boxes.

July 12, 2024 Update:

Unique completed installing the new water main in the 400 block this week. They pressure-tested this section, which passed and anticipated chlorinating it on Friday. The remaining main work is the final connection and disconnecting of the old water main, which will occur once all water services are transferred to the new main.  On Friday, Unique will connect the new main to the meter pit for the Bethlehem Woods complex at the dead-end of Richmond.   Next week, Unique will begin service transfers in the 300 block.  Once the 300 block is complete, restorations will start in this block and along Richmond while service transfers are going on in the 400 block.  Check back next week for another update on this project.
