Cook County has awarded $300,000 to the Village of La Grange Park for its Sewer Backup Prevention Program. These funds will be used to expand the Village’s existing program to reduce residential basement flooding from combined stormwater and sanitary sewage backups. Cook County is providing funding through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and has allocated $20 million in ARPA funding to better manage stormwater and build resiliency to climate events throughout Cook County. While additional funding from Cook County is available, the Village is expanding program eligibility to include existing single-family, two-family, and multi-family homes (3+ units), and owner-occupied and rental properties. Visit the program webpage for more information and how to apply!
