Construction Updates - Week Ending March 25, 2022
Permeable Pavement/Green Infrastructure Intersections: Copenhaver Construction will begin intersection improvements on Monday, March 28, at the intersection of Monroe and Community. On Tuesday, the water for the 700, 800, and 900 blocks of Community will be shut down to install the new water main. The contractor anticipates six days to complete and reopen the intersection.
* Three intersections along Monroe are slated to become "green intersections" through grants. The project will assist with storm water management and are designed to collect excess rainwater. The project consists of removing and replacing the water mains, rehabilitating storm inlets, removing and replacing two feet of soil with crushed aggregate, replacing the curbs, and installing brick pavers. The work will start at Community & Monroe, move to Sherwood & Monroe, and finish at Robinhood & Monroe.
