Jermaine Stewart was elected to the Village Board in 2021.  Mr. Stewart has been a resident of La Grange Park since 2012. He attended U of I where he majored in Civil Engineering and received a Mathematics degree from Chicago State University.  

Before starting a family, Jermaine spent two years in London, UK where he worked as a Finance Manager.  He is currently a Manager of Process Improvements at Brookfield Properties where he is responsible for streamlining accounting processes through technology and robotics automation.

Mr. Stewart believes that La Grange Park is a great place to raise a family and is committed to fostering a sense of community for our residents.  In October 2020, Jermaine organized a virtual Town Hall on Tackling Systemic Racism.  The event included a panel discussion with local residents and community leaders and was centered on raising awareness of inequities for underrepresented residents.   He is currently a member of the CommUNITY Diversity Group of La Grange and is involved in several diversity initiatives for D95 and D102.  

Mr. Stewart is particularly interested in Business Development and the Finance functions of the Board. He is excited to utilize his experience and skillset to promote continued fiscal responsibility and growth  while serving as an advocate for the community.
